Washingtonians adore yoga; they need to relax with such stressful jobs. From conventional to hot yoga, these are the best studios in the District. If you can’t decide on just one, ClassPass is a great and economical option. For a $99 monthly membership fee, enjoy unlimited access to all participating fitness centers around the District. Get the omm all over the DMV.

1. Down Dog Power Yoga

Yoga Studio

Down Dog was ranked runner up for the District’s best yoga studio in 2015. Take a wide range of workshops they offer and learn why – discover your inner-balance with their handstand classes. Or enroll in their ‘Free Your Shoulders’ workshop to target upper back pain. The studio focuses on Baptise yoga, which is an accelerated form of yoga that is closer to an aerobic/cardio workout. Temperatures are kept between 90-95 degrees for all classes. Sweat out the stress.

2. Bethesda Salt Cave

Spa, Yoga Studio

Himalayan salt rocks, which have restorative properties and clear congestion, coat this dual spa and yoga studio. You’ll reach your inner chi immersed in a natural, calming environment. The salts cover the ground you lay on during guided meditation sessions; there’s also zero-gravity recliners. Afterwards, maybe take a dip in the studio’s sensory deprivation tank. This Bethesda studio definitively deserves the DMV’s most relaxing studio title.

3. Lil Omm

Lil Omm

As the affectionate name suggests, Lil Omm is for the whole family! They offer classes that parents can take with their children, from toddlers onward, and tiny little mats for the young tykes; but if you prefer to meditate without whining reminders of your responsibilities, they also offer an on-site child care service.

4. Corepower

Yoga Studio

Corepower has locations scattered across the DMV area, but the Glover Park studio is consistently rated five stars. While other locales get crowded and stuffy downtown, Glover Park is roomy, and aspiring yogis will receive plenty of individual attention. Clients endlessly rave (in between their gasps for air) about the Sculpt Class – a combination of hot yoga, weight training, and a bit of cardio. This is the yoga studio to endure an intense workout and motivate yourself to get in shape.

5. Flow

Flow

Offering traditional Vinsaya yoga and pilates classes, this quaint studio creates an intimate and classic atmosphere. The bright interior gives off a friendly, welcoming air, and the cutesy décor grants the studio a distinct personality. The friendly instructors coupled with the great vibes make this the perfect start for any newbies intimidated by more intense studios.
