Where To Splurge In Tysons Galleria

Not to be confused with Tyson’s Gallery, Tysons Galleria is a separate, more upscale version of its mall counterpart in McLean, Virginia. If you’ve got plenty of cash to blow (lucky you), head straight to the Galleria; here’s where to spend it…

Anthropologie

This upscale women’s clothing store is essentially a more classy and conservative Urban Outfitters, which makes sense since they’re owned by the same parent company. The items here are better quality and less daring than Urban’s stock, but they retain hip vibes and avoid drabness. Purchase cool and unique, but still work appropriate, attire here; they have an extensive selection of blouses, Peter Pan collars and all.

Chanel

The iconic French brand specializes in haute couture (high-end fashion) with each thread meticulously stitched by hand to perfectly fit a client. Haute couture pieces are specially designed to fall on a person’s frame just right. Chanel is praised for its elegant dressmaking and fluid understanding of femininity, having revolutionized high-end women’s wear in the 1920’s.

Club Monaco

This international retailer is marked by its modern, chic clothing with moderate prices. Owned by Ralph Lauren, more than 140 locations dot across the globe — from Canada to the United Arab Emirates. The brand boasts ‘affordable luxury with modern sensibility.’ The average piece achieves a middle ground between casual and formal.

Gucci

Gucci was founded in 1921 in Florence, and the epochal brand transformed 20th century fashion. Founder Guccio Gucci was inspired by the elegant luggage he handled while working at a hotel; he initially started Gucci as a retailer of fine leather goods and later expanded the company’s reach to fashion. In 2015, Gucci ranked 38th on Forbe’s list of the most valuable brands in the world.

Mulberry

The British retailer is famed for its quality leather goods, particularly women’s handbags. The luxury goods are still produced at the company’s original factory in Somerset. The Duchess of Cambridge can frequently be seen sporting Mulberry purses, but guys shouldn’t count it out — it also sell men’s bags.

Versace

This couture line is the epitome of high fashion. An Italian company, the company’s trademark logo of Medusa brought worldwide acclaim, helping to transform the brand into an international icon. Medusa’s victims helplessly fell in love with no chance of relief from her spell; Gianni Versace desired the same effect with his clothes. The trademark bold colors and eclectic patterns are anything but forgettable.
