1. Experience Hive at the National Building Museum

Labor Day will be the last chance to see Hive, the summer block party installation at the National Building Museum. The jaw-dropping exhibit comprises more than 2,700 wound paper tubes, which, in turn, create domed chambers; it is truly a can’t-miss sight.

Make a stop at the National Museum of American History to explore the American Enterprise exhibit. This interactive display will take you through the evolution of labor in the country, starting from the agricultural economy to modern-day industry.

3. Labor Day Crabfest

Join City Tap Penn Quarter for a day of feasting and fun by cracking unlimited crabs at their Third Annual Labor Day Crabfest. 4. Harbor Dome: Summer Snow Globe

If you are really ready for winter, or just want a break from the heat, make sure to check out the National Harbor’s newest addition, Harbor Dome. This special event venue will sport the Summer Snow Globe Aug 18th through Labor Day, with regular dustings of real snow, sleek bars with craft cocktails, a lounge to take it all in and live music.

5. Concert at The Capitol

Enjoy a free concert by the National Symphony Orchestra. The event will kick off at 3 pm on Sunday, September 3rd and takes place on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. Pack a picnic and get there early to avoid crowds.

6. Best American cocktail bar
