It’s no wonder travellers have flocked to the Dead Sea for centuries. From the healing water to the high oxygen levels in the air, it’s a place to rejuvenate and unwind. At 400 metres (1,300ft) below sea level, it’s also the lowest place in the world, its shores teeming with luxury resorts and hotels. Float in the mineral rich saltwater or luxuriate in the age-defying mud pools on the Jordan shoreline, at one of these hotels.

Enjoy both experiences at this five-star hotel, then indulge in luxury treatments at the Ishtar Spa by Resense. The Thalgo sessions here harness the minerals of the sea to revitalise and rebalance your skin and clear your mind. In addition, the Ma’in Hot Springs are just a 30-minute drive away.

For a hotel with such gorgeous interiors, the Hilton does a good job at diverting your attention outside. Lounge on the hotel’s floating pontoon sundeck, surrounded by the salty Dead Sea, before an afternoon spa treatment. For a pre-dinner drink, head up to Sky Bar, the hotel’s open-air rooftop lounge that comes alive around sunset with ambient DJ beats. When you do go inside, most rooms and suites have deep sunken baths and sea views.

The therapeutic qualities of Ma’in Hot Springs have attracted wellness seekers since the Roman Empire. Staying at this unique resort puts you in prime position for early morning spring dips and sweeping mountain views. The wood-clad rooms and suites are warm with king-sized beds, and breakfast is included. It’s not everywhere that you can swim in an outdoor pool at the foot of an enormous frothy waterfall.

They had us at “complimentary minibar”, but this hotel has more going for it than free snacks. The private beach on the edges of the Dead Sea and the spa are to be valued. A trio of palm-fringed heated pools that link up to the sea are perfect for holidaymakers who prefer to float rather than walk. Watch the sunset from the infinity pool, or perhaps swim out to the jacuzzi island. Your only worry here will be wrinkled fingertips.

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
