Cairo, from Raiders of the Lost Ark

Let’s go back to where it all started, and you can understand why Lucas and Spielberg chose Egypt as the focal point of their first archeological adventure epic. A lot of the filming was actually done in Tunisia, but much of the most iconic scenes in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) take place in Cairo, as well as the archeological site of Tanis.
