Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching, and couples around the world are rehearsing their proposals and preparing to get down on one knee. Here, discover the 10 most romantic spots to propose to your loved one in Bangkok.

Dinner cruises

The city of Bangkok simply lights up after dark, with a number of dazzling temples, luxurious hotels, and more lining the peaceful Chao Phraya River. Visitors to Thailand can opt to get up-close and personal with all of these amazing sights on board one of the many dinner cruises available along the river. Most are equipped with some sort of live entertainment, the best food and drink for wining and dining, and an overall romantic atmosphere as couples cruise down the river. Some of the most popular dinner cruises in Bangkok include the Grand Pearl Luxury River Cruise & Dining Experience, Loy Nava Dinner Cruises, Chao Phraya Princess Cruise, and River Star Princess Cruise.

From its five glistening towers to the sheer size of it, Wat Arun has long been one of the most memorable sights in the city. Luckily for couples, there are plenty of dining options across the Chao Phraya River from the temple equipped with spectacular views of this grand spectacle. One of the most romantic and atmospheric dining options of them all is Amorosa Bar, located on the top floor of The Deck by Arun Residence. With an extensive menu of cocktails, this snack and drink lounge is the perfect place to say “I do.” Afterwards, couples can enjoy a celebratory drink overlooking both the temple and river.

Head somewhere a bit more secluded and escape the busyness that is Bangkok at Lumpini Park. This green space covers a sprawling 140 acres of land, and there are plenty of quiet nooks and secluded spaces to cozy up and get some alone time before popping the question. Couples feeling incredibly cheesy might instead opt for renting one of the swan paddle boats on the artificial lake found in the middle of Lumpini. The park is actually named after an enchanted garden in Nepal where Buddha was born, and will hopefully make any proposals taking place here just as magical.

5. Smooth Curry restaurant

Restaurant, Thai, Seafood, Asian

The restaurant is located on the third level of the Plaza Athénée Bangkok, A Royal Méridien Hotel, and it is impeccably decorated, equipped with spread-out seating providing diners with privacy even during a dinner rush. The dimly lit dining area certainly sets the mood for a dreamy evening while diners enjoy a good helping of traditional Thai cuisine.

6. Chocolate Ville

What better way to pull off a sweet proposal than by proposing in one of the sweetest places in the city? Chocolate Ville is simply enchanting, equipped with a lighted gazebo, pastel-colored buildings and miniature windmills, and romantic lakeside dining. Despite its name, the small city is not overflowing with chocolate. Instead, it is bursting with charm and delicious Thai and Western cuisine, making it one noteworthy place to propose.
