Unique touches abound at this eco-sensitive designed property. The rooms are uniquely themed, and the four suites are individually decorated by a local artist. Some have antique tubs, garden views, canopy beds, whirlpool tubs, original murals and gas or wood fireplaces. The locally sourced breakfast, with hot and cold dishes, is served each morning at the communal table or in the sunlit garden, from which many of the fresh ingredients are sourced. Chat with other guests over wine and cheese at the evening happy hour.

The garnet-red clapboard exterior welcomes guests to the aptly named Ruby, surrounded by mountainous peaks in historic downtown Crested Butte. Owners Gail Riley and Tom Statzell have enjoyed Highland Haven for more than 40 years. Surrounded by blue spruce trees, it’s within walking distance of Main Street and only a 25-minute drive from the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater. The modern accommodations are varied with suites, cottages and guest rooms. The romantic TreeHouse Suite is two stories with a jacuzzi. Hot breakfast is delivered daily to be enjoyed in your room or on the private balcony. Feel free to add the mimosa package!

The slate-blue Victorian-style B&B is in the heart of downtown Winter Park, only two miles (3km) from the ski mountain via a free shuttle. The red-brick Old Town Guesthouse was built in 1997 in historic Old Colorado City, with shops and restaurants just a few steps away. The unique guestrooms, with names like African Orchid and Victorian Rose, offer views of Pikes Peak, waterbeds, double sinks in the bathrooms and most feature fireplaces, hot tubs or steam showers. In-room amenities include a TV and DVD player, refrigerator, coffee machine, and wifi. Breakfast is served daily in the dining room.

Owners and Innkeepers Charles and Melissa Fletcher will be on hand to welcome you to the Victorian-style China Clipper, in the Switzerland of America. The richly decorated rooms, named after famous Clipper Ships, come with private bathrooms, Paya toiletries, spa robes, flat-screen TVs and wifi. Most offer mountain views. A perfect spot for families looking for a mountain getaway, several of the rustic mountain-chic rooms feature bunk beds or sofa sleepers.
