With its buzzing metropolitan hubs and stunning natural beauty, Mexico is undoubtedly one of the most colorful and vibrant countries in the world. Unsurprisingly, there are a wealth of exciting Instagram accounts showcasing the country’s cultural, artistic, and culinary delights. Here are some of the Instagrammers you should definitely be following if you want to know more about this fascinating, diverse country.

Gustavo Moguel

For an Instagram account that showcases Mexico’s natural beauty, Gustavo Moguel should be your first port of call. The Youtuber and blogger has travelled throughout the country, recording videos and taking extraordinary drone photos of some of Mexico’s most incredible natural sights. Moguel’s Instagram is particularly focused on the Yucatán Peninsula, and the extraordinary beaches and cenotes (underwater sinkholes) that dot the region.

Aramara Huichol

The Wixárika, or Huichol people, originate from the highlands of northwestern Mexico. The tribe is famed for its ritual use of the psychedelic plant peyote and for their colorful—and equally hallucinogenic—artwork. Aramara Huichol is a feed dedicated to the yarn paintings, necklaces, and other accessories handcrafted by Wixárika artisans. All of the items on show are also available to buy from Aramara’s Etsy shop.

Sofía Niño de Rivera

The Mexican comedian released her Netflix special Exposed in 2016 and became a household name almost overnight. She appeared on a Conan Mexico special the following year and released a second highly successful Netflix stand up special, Natural Selection, earlier this year. Niño de Rivera’s Instagram account features jokes, snaps of family and friends, and updates on her latest projects.

Pedro Kumamoto

Pedro Kumamoto is a 28-year-old Mexican politician who became the first independent candidate to win a seat in the Congress of Jalisco. Many young people hope that Kumamoto and Wikipolítica—the movement which he forms a part of—will hold the key to creating a more inclusive and equal Mexican society. Kumamoto’s Instagram offers an insight into the life of a young activist and politician looking to take on Mexico’s problems.

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
