In Vancouver, British Columbia, a vacation can easily combine an urban getaway with an outdoor break – especially if you linger in one of the many extended-stay rentals. This dense and walkable West Coast city in Canada is rimmed by waterfront paths, while Stanley Park is everyone’s favorite bonus backyard. Whether you visit to explore Gastown or nearby Grouse Mountain, there’s a hearty collection of vacation apartments available, ranging from private luxury lodgings to aparthotel-style suites.
The sweet life is yours at this one-bedroom apartment at Dolce at Symphony Place, with high ceilings and hardwood floors. Don’t worry about packing light – the bedroom has a huge walk-in closet and abundant storage. Or bring empty suitcases and fill them up at the shops of the Pacific Centre and Robson Street. Gather around the gas fireplace for drinks and conversation, then enjoy the city lights from your balcony.
Level has furnished apartments ranging from 500sqft to 1,200sqft (46sqm to 111sqm) in the Yaletown neighborhood. A subway station and ferry terminal are nearby, providing easy access to the rest of Vancouver. The lodgings are kid- and pet-friendly, and nearby Emily Barnes Park has a playground and dog run for the whole family to enjoy. When you return, pop into Nesters Market, just across the street from Level, before cooking up a feast in your kitchen.
Just one block from Stanley Park, Rosellen Suites range from 600sqft to 1,900sqft (56sqm to 177sqm), with wood-burning fireplaces and open floor plans. Popular with film crews, the property has a neighborhood feel – but you’re close to Robson Street for shopping, and dozens of restaurants and bars on Denman Street. You’ll also have access to the Vancouver Aquatic Centre and a fitness club.
Sky Residences welcome extended-stay travelers to Vancouver with updated decor, well-stocked kitchens, stellar city views and a convenient downtown location. Shared common spaces include a garden, barbecue area and sauna. The apartments are part of the Symphony Place complex, just across the street from the Orpheum theater and a few blocks from shopping at Pacific Centre and Robson Street.
Find affordable variety at Century Plaza, where choices include 400sqft (37sqm) studio suites with kitchenettes, apartment-sized king suites with balcony views and plenty of options in between. There’s no in-room laundry, but a guest amenity center includes washers, dryers and a TV lounge. The hotel is also close to Nelson Park, a dog-friendly urban greenery where the West End Farmers Market is held during the summer months.
Tucked within a high-end hotel, the apartment-style, extended-stay suites at L’Hermitage have gourmet kitchens with Sub-Zero and Bosch appliances, marble bathrooms and stacked washers and dryers. An outdoor heated saltwater pool is perfect for a swim, or work up a sweat in the 24-hour fitness studio. It’s an easy walk to top-tier shopping, arts venues, hundreds of restaurants and the waterfront.
Sonder at Revival has an enviable location in a residential area in the West End, just a few blocks from the scenery, beaches and social whirl of English Bay. The small studios are comfortable and crisply decorated, with a kitchenette, dishwasher and small private terrace. Eat in your suite or explore the international smorgasbord of restaurants on nearby Denman Street.
Set midway between the core of downtown and Stanley Park, Vancouver Extended Stay has accommodations in two secure high-rise condo communities. Both complexes, the Palisades and the Residences on Georgia, offer secure parking and fitness centers, plus sweeping views and open balconies on the higher floors. Stroll to Robson Street for shopping and dining, then watch the hydroplanes take off and land on Coal Harbour.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.
Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.
Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.
We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
