Florence is known for its famous designers – Ferragamo, Gucci, Cavalli – but the city is also an exceptional destination for vintage lovers. In the last years the city has welcomed a number of secondhand shops that have added to the richness of the fashion scene in Florence. For those who enjoy a hunt for the perfect garment or accessory, Florence’s many vintage shops offer plenty of opportunities.

1. Ceri Vintage

Ceri Vintage is a small vintage shop in the Oltrarno area run by Danilo Ceri who collect unique and wonderful pieces. It is one of the best locations for vintage lovers that every good stylist should note down in their agenda. Although there is less stock than in others shops, Ceri Vintage boasts an eclectic collection of unusual pieces from antique clothing to textiles and workwear. The shop also houses a rich array of military collectibles. This is the place to be for people that like to make their own outfits.

2. Boutique Nadine

Boutique Nadine is a vintage shop located near to the touristic Ponte Vecchio but it is an address frequented mostly by Italians. The store has two addresses, the other is near the Church of Santa Croce. The shop mixes vintage with other secondhand items and although there is a selection of men’s vintage, Nadine is more geared towards ladies. The shop itself is really beautiful and stylish and it is particularly great for bags, sunglasses and scarves. It have a great selection of shoes too.

3. Marie Antoinette

This tiny shop is located near the Arno River and offers an extremely well-curated selection of vintage and unique pieces, including shoes, purses, dresses and accessories from designers such as Valentino, Loius Vuitton and Bulgari. Owner Geraldine Naldini and her partner are stylists who opened the shop in April 2014 and have filled it with great, architectural and avant garde designer looks.

5. Rosso Firenze

This small shop opened in 2014 is the coolest address for lovers of vintage jewelery. It is located in the centre of Florence, near Ponte Vecchio, so it is easy to find. The shop showcases clothing, handbags and also paintings and lamps, but the collection focuses on vintage and modern jewelery. 9 Rosso is the perfect spot to buy a unique present for your partner.
