This beautiful island – complete with tropical beaches and even a lighthouse – is a great location in which you can relax or swim in the lagoon. It is a kilometer long and it is very close to Le Gosier, Guadeloupe. Although uninhabited, it is popular with the local people on the weekends and the environment is naturally beautiful with its reefs. There is a five-minute ferry ride to the ilet, and you can go for a snorkelling session to see elkhorn corals. The area is protected by the Coastal Conservancy in addition to the National Forestry Office, to preserve the area.

Departing from Canella Beach in Le Gosier from the end of Pointe de la Verdure, the aerial circuit tours are an exhilarating experience. Take the lead as you fly over the ilets and enjoy an unusual perspective. Get a fantastic overview of the small, uninhabited islands, as well as the coral and the blue lagoons. This fort is located on a large hill in Grande-Terre in Guadeloupe. It was constructed in the 1700s, above Le Gosier, by Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban, a Marshal of France. The several small buildings and rooms below are connected by underground tunnels and battlements. It was seized by Britain in the late 1700s, but recaptured by a French battalion lead by Victor Hugues. The British forces were then ejected from Guadeloupe in 1794. The fortification now hosts several art exhibitions.

Gosier Market

On Friday nights you can find a lively market, with lots of people shopping, which sells arts and crafts, small trinkets, as well as tourist gifts. You can also purchase traditional, exotic fruits and vegetables that are found on the island. The market opens from 5pm and can be found on the two main streets of the town, right down on the watefront. Immerse yourself in a joyful, relaxed atmosphere, whilst purchasing keepsakes from your travels.

A little outside of Le Gosier, a picturesque, clean, white sandy beach awaits you.
