It is referred to as the Omani Grand Canyon or the Grand Canyon of Arabia and is one of the most famous wadis (a dry riverbed) in Al Dakhliya Region, as well as one of the best natural attractions in the country. The canyon is around 1 km (0.62 mi) deep at some points.
