Although the rural areas of Austria still have some catching up to do, the capital has a flourishing LGBT community. The traffic lights in Vienna give hints to its openness – with designs altered to include same-sex pairings surrounded by love hearts, as well as heterosexual couples. The 5th and 6th districts are where you’ll find the highest concentration of gay, queer and lesbian bars, as well as various events and festivals that take place in the city throughout the year.

Open from 6pm until 2am Mondays through Thursdays, and from 7pm to 4am on Fridays and Saturdays, events include karaoke nights and drag acts.
