We’ve got the scoop on places to stay where guests get access to private islands and where the Creole charm of the Seychelles runs deep, including in the spas and kitchens.

Praslin, the second-largest, jewel-like Seychelles island, is a natural paradise approximately 44km (27mi) from Mahé, home to the capital and main airport. The island’s Vallée de Mai Nature Reserve is a Unesco World Heritage site with coco de mer and five other endemic palms, and fascinating creatures such as Seychelles kestrels, black parrots, skinks and chameleons. There’s almost as much variety among its hotels, too. Here’s our pick of the best hotels in the Seychelles.

But don’t let that put you off your stroke.
