As the epicenter of Lima’s sophisticated bourgeois, it stands to reason there would be an abundance of quality cafés spread throughout the opulent suburb of Miraflores. From cookie cutter international chains to more endearing boutique venues, here are the best spots to grab a coffee and a bite to eat in Lima’s glitziest neighborhood.

1. Puku Puku Cafe

Cafe, Coffee Shop, Coffee, Peruvian, Vegetarian

Mostly famous for its high-quality beans, the Miraflores branch of this small Peruvian franchise serves some of the best coffee in the neighborhood. Despite being situated in a quiet street off the main drag, the outdoor seating area of this intimate establishment is known to fill up with savvy coffee connoisseurs every day of the week.

2. Panadería El Pan De La Chola

Bakery, Cafe, Pastry Shop, Pastries, Dessert, Gluten-free, Fast Food

The biggest attraction at El Pan De La Chola is their wide variety of oven-fresh bread, handmade and baked in-house each day. Such artisanal efforts perfectly compliment their selection of sandwiches, which – although a little pricey – are probably the best in the city.

3. Pastelería San Antonio De Angamos

Cafe, Pastry Shop, Pastries, Vegetarian, Vegan, Coffee, Tea

Despite appearing distinctly upmarket from the exterior, the prices in this café delicatessen are actually quite reasonable, especially when considering the high standard of food involved. Huge salads plus delicious sandwiches and quiche are the most popular menu items, though their desserts and caffeinated drinks go down a treat as well.

4. Manolo

Cafe, Patisserie, Restaurant, Dessert, Peruvian, Vegetarian

Got a thing for churros? Then head on down to Manolo for what may well be the best fried-dough pastry based snack in the whole of South America. With delectable toppings such as dulce de leche, caramel, and chocolate to choose from, even the Spanish would agree this place is the real deal. The coffee is great and other superb sweet and savory options adorn the menu as well.

5. Cafe de Lima

Cafe, Restaurant, Peruvian, Coffee, Tea , Fast Food, Vegetarian

A local favorite right in the heart of Miraflores, the dining section of this chic establishment serves an array of hearty Peruvian and international fare while the patio is more about having a coffee and a light snack. Their creative seafood burgers are certainly worthy of attention, as are the freshly squeezed juices and coffee.

6. La Mora Patisserie & Café

Cafe, Patisserie, Restaurant, Dessert, Pastries, Peruvian, Fast Food, Vegetarian, Coffee, Tea

Despite marketing itself as a Patisserie, it’s the selection of savory goodies that have helped La Mora gain a loyal following in the city. The hearty breakfast and brunch menu is the perfect way to start the day, while their delightful gourmet sandwiches really hit the spot for lunch. As you would expect, the coffee here is pretty good too.

7. Homemade ...hecho en casa

Bakery, Cafe, Restaurant, Peruvian, Dessert, Vegetarian, Coffee, Tea

As the name suggests, everything on display in this quaint little café has been made in-house and it shows. The freshly baked multigrain bread is definitely a highlight, although there are plenty of other fresh goodies just begging to be sampled as well. Happen to be there for breakfast? Then give the eggs Benedict a shot, a delectable offering which may well be the best in Peru.
