Sunny, glitzy and forever cool, Los Angeles is as popular as ever – and its colossal airport, LAX, seems to get busier every year. Luckily, there’s an impressive range of nearby boltholes to keep you fresh for your flight from La La Land, bookable on Culture Trip.

If staying near a busy runway sounds like a drag, that is simply not the case for well-located LAX. The airport offers 20-minute access to some of the best areas in the city including Venice, Culver City, and Manhattan Beach. Many of these hotels are destinations in themselves and far from the typical airport stay – you may just find they’ll do quite nicely for the entire trip. But at the very least, bookending your trip in an airport hotel will spare you the LA traffic on your way in and out of LAX. Read on for our favorites.

After dinner, sip a signature cocktail at the Paris-style speakeasy. Self-parking is more affordable than at other hotels on this list.

What it lacks in high design, it makes up for in convenience and location. Spacious rooms and suites have all the usual perks, plus pillow-top mattresses, while many come with patios or balconies. Dozens of restaurants and the Hammer Museum are within easy walking distance – not always a given in LA. Other pros? Parking and breakfast are complimentary.
