Non-Outdoorsy Things to Do in South Lake Tahoe
While beautiful South Lake Tahoe is a nature lover’s paradise, it also has plenty of things for those who aren’t looking to do anything outdoorsy. Culture Trip put together a list of fun things to do in SLT that doesn’t include the great outdoors.
Take a dinner cruise
Kick back and relax while cruising on the majestic Lake Tahoe. You’ll be out on the water for an evening filled with live music, dancing, drinks, and a delicious dinner. It’s an ideal option for those who want to take in the scenic beauty from indoors.
Go bowling
Head to the lanes to have a go at the pins at a bowling alley. Tahoe Bowl is an incredibly popular bowling alley that offers 16 lanes, billiards, an arcade, food, and a pro shop. For the 21-and-up crowd, there’s also a sports bar with drink specials.

Dine on some local grub
Besides winter and summer sports, South Lake Tahoe’s local food scene is worth exploring. Restaurants and cafés are scattered all over Lake Tahoe, and they serve up some of the most amazing food. Do a little research before heading out on a self-guided food tour. You’ll be truly satisfied, and your stomachs will be full to the brim with local goodness.
Try your hand at the casinos
Lake Tahoe is also known for its casinos, so drive over the border into Nevada and experience the world-famous Hard Rock Casino, Harrah’s, and Montbleu. Play some video poker at one of the many bars, or try your luck at the craps tables or slots. There’s a game for everyone at the many casinos.
