When your brain goes into “taco mode,” so will your Lyft driver—but only in Los Angeles for now.
Late-night rides home and cravings for Taco Bell often go hand-in-hand. Granting the wishes of many drunk people, the fast-food company and the ride-sharing service Lyft are partnering to provide tacos just when you need them most. Beginning this Thursday and going for the next two weekends (July 27-30 and August 3-6), some lucky Lyft users in Orange County, California will be able to select “Taco Mode” in the app between 9 p.m and 2 a.m., summoning any of 15 Lyft vehicles that’ll bring you to a Taco Bell drive-through en route to your final destination, where you’ll get a free Doritos Locos taco and, of course, the opportunity to order additional items. The Taco Mode partnership is expected to roll out nationally in 2018, and select markets may see it before then. As if you needed yet another reason to choose an alternative to Uber.
