Hacienda Buena Vista

Made up of 87 acres, Hacienda Buena Vista in Ponce is probably Puerto Rico’s most famous coffee plantation and now functions as a museum; however, at one point, it used to ship approximately 10,000 pounds of coffee to Europe each year. The 19th-century hacienda’s notable features include stables, former slave quarters, the manor house, and a corn mill, which receives water from a canal. Group tours are available on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Sandra Farms Coffee

Dating back to 2001, Sandra Farms Coffee is named after one of the owners of the business, Sandra Gonzalez—the other owner being Israel Gonzalez. To process the coffee, they utilize environmentally friendly techniques that result in less water and energy use. Hacienda Gran Batey

Founded in 2003 and located in Utuado, the Hacienda Gran Batey is a family-run business that produces made-to-order Arabica coffee, made entirely in Puerto Rico. Hacienda Tres Angeles

Another coffee producing location near the center of Puerto Rico, but in the town of Adjuntas, is Hacienda Tres Angeles. At the hacienda, the coffee produced is single-origin Arabica/Caturra, and there is a café on-site where visitors can enjoy their brand of coffee. When it comes to awards, it’s worth mentioning that this business was “the first Agro-tourism Certified farm by the Puerto Rico Tourism Company” and was named Tourism World Champions by the United Nations World Tourism Organization in 2015.
