Renting a beach house in Puerto Rico is an exercise in sheer indulgence. You will be just steps from amazing ocean views and incredible beaches, and will find scrumptious, fresh produce, tantalizing local fare and beautiful items for purchase. Here are just a few of the beach houses you should consider renting when you visit Puerto Rico.

Amirage in Rincón is the beach-house paradise you were looking for. Enjoy a delicious cup of Puerto Rican coffee and embrace the amazing views from the elegant patio, just feet above the Caribbean Sea. Ease those tired muscles with a soak in the hot tub and then some sunbathing on the deck, or enjoy a glass of wine and the ocean breezes as you watch the pelicans feed. Stargazing is also extraordinary in Rincón, so sit back and enjoy the constellations or catch some shooting stars and satellites. Amirage is run by Joy, who has perfected her craft with 20 years of wedding and event planning experience on the island. When her bananas are ready, she makes banana pancakes for all her guests and these thoughtful touches, along with the scenery and weather, make a stay at Amirage a truly magical experience.

The residence is just stunning, with granite counter-tops in the kitchen and gorgeous interior decorating, and it’s what you dream of when you think of a Caribbean beach house. Relax beneath an umbrella with a cold drink and enjoy the incredible view of Palomino Island.

This majestic villa boasts a private beach and is next door to the Ritz Carlton Reserve Hotel, a posh area of Puerto Rico. The home is decorated with impeccable taste and will make you feel like royalty. It is conveniently located next to the pool in the common area, but it’s also just steps away from the private beach. It is one of the higher-priced rentals on the island, but it can easily and comfortably house eight guests, making this classy place worth that bit extra.

5. Buyé Beach Resort

Buyé Beach Resort doesn’t have beach houses, but it does have cabañas available at very reasonable rates, as well as condos for rent. There is a gift shop, frappe stand, small food stand that sells drinks, an outdoor bar with karaoke and a full restaurant. Buyé is an incredible beach with a lot of space, and the Caribbean waters are usually quite calm, so this is a great place for a family vacation. The cabins have air conditioning in the bedrooms, and a kitchen and bathroom, but you must provide your own linens, toiletries and cooking supplies.
