1. Mont Sutton

Grab the chairlift and head all the way to the top of 2,800-foot (850m) Mont Sutton, an award-winning ski resort in a charming town of the same name. This renowned ski resort is located only an hour and a half from Montreal in Quebec’s Eastern Townships. Here, you’ll find snowboarders and skiers of all levels gliding down 60 adrenaline-pumping trails. After a day of shredding the slopes, you’ve earned a little après-ski fun, which you’re sure to find at the variety of cosy bars, restaurants and microbreweries that Mont Sutton offers. 2. Mont Orford

The premier ski destination for those looking to enjoy a day (or weekend) of alpine and cross-country skiing, Mont Orford is also the highest ski mountain in the Eastern Townships. Here you’ll find 61 trails, including 17 glades, that are perfect for all levels and ages, from beginners to pros. The mountain also offers plenty of backcountry and cross-country skiing options for those looking to build up a sweat at a slower pace, while taking in the breathtaking beauty of Canada’s wilderness. 3. Ski Bromont

Just an hour drive from Montreal, Ski Bromont is a quaint ski resort in the Eastern Townships that’s known for its reasonable ticket prices, excellent glades (known in Quebec as “sous-bois”) and night skiing. Join locals and visitors in carving up the mountain’s 100+ trails, making it the largest skiable area in North America. Of the 145 trails spread out over seven hillsides, you’ll also find 75 floodlit trails perfect for night skiing. All equipment can be rented on-site, and slope difficulties are varied. 4. Sommet Saint-Sauveur

Tucked away in the Laurentian Mountains is the delightful ski resort of Sommet Saint-Sauveur. This family-friendly ski resort offers 40 trails and is another popular destination for night skiing. Whether you are hopping on the bunny slope or the black diamond trail, you’ll find a hill that fits your skill set. At this ski resort, you’ll also find acclaimed ski instructors, a snow tubing area, a popular snowpark and an alpine roller coaster. 5. Ski Mont Blanc

Ski Mont Blanc is an underrated gem when it comes to skiing in the Laurentians. Mont Blanc is a popular year-round vacation spot for those looking to escape Montreal for some time in the majestic Mont-Tremblant region of Quebec. Ski Mont Blanc offers 41 trails and one of the area’s highest verticals. Less experienced skiers or snowboarders will also find a variety of scenic trails to tackle. Snow bunnies flock to Ski Mont Blanc for the renowned ski school, the great rates and the double black diamond trails (for the more seasoned athletes, of course).
