Much has been written about the visually stunning HBO series The Young Pope, created and directed by Academy Award winner Paolo Sorrentino, which premiered in January. Pope Pius XIII is portrayed by Jude Law, whose sex symbol status has been resurrected with this series and who is, in many ways, the ultimate hipster, despite his conservative views (he has a pet kangaroo and knows how to rock a pinky ring like a boss).
Pope Pius XIII is a chain smoking, elusive rebel who stays fit with grueling exercise regimes and by drinking Cherry Coke Zero. Claiming to be even more handsome than Jesus Christ himself, Law’s character is also quite the style maven. If you’ve yet to catch the series, take a weekend to binge watch this show, because no one does Easter fashion quite like The Young Pope. Let the spectacular fashion worn by his Holiness in the Vatican City inspire your Easter Sunday looks, whether you choose to don a velvet kaftan or fringed silk blouse.
