In a climate where vegan food is all the rage, this can often mean that restaurants take advantage of this. Thankfully, Cafe Thrive are on hand to combat this with affordable and fresh vegan food. The Rockstone

Boasting a country feel in the city, this independent Southampton pub serves up some of the best vegan burgers in the city. The Rockhouse is probably best known for their fantastic selection of drinks more than anything else, but their themed vegan burgers, such as the beetroot-based Manic Beet Preachers, are worth the visit alone.

The Art House

So much more than a cafe, The Art House is Southampton’s only not-for-profit community cafe, which doubles up as a venue, art space and gallery, among other things. The Art House proudly serves ethical vegetarian and vegan food to complement their organic ethos – and it’s also dog-friendly!

Bayleaf Kitchen’s vegetarian menu is so irresistible that we just can’t stop going back. This Indian restaurant is in the heart of the city and has some of the best paneer we’ve ever tasted. You will want to go here.

If you’re a fan of pizza, you’ll love The Stable. This homely chain restaurant offers a full vegan pizza menu along with more than 60 different ciders and can tailor orders based on most dietary requirements, including gluten-free pizza bases.

Last but not least, Bacaro aims to channel traditional Venetian bacari in a warm, welcoming setting. Situated in Ocean Village, this popular Italian has a varied array of vegetarian and vegan foods to try including one of our personal favourites: sauteed spinach and crispy chillis.
