As a city with so much history hidden in every urban crevice, it’s no surprise that Istanbul has a plethora of vintage stores where the past is appreciated for its attention to detail. Visit Culture Trip’s favourite vintage shops for the best selection of clothes and accessories that the Turkish city has to offer.

Vintage Istanbul

Shop

Vintage Istanbul owner Özge Tan Özbek had been accumulating her goods for many years as a hobby, until she finally decided to share them. You’ll find a range of accessories and jewellery here, covering everything from luxury labels like Vera Wang to equally fabulous no-name brands.

Mozk

Shop

If you’re on the lookout for vintage furniture as well as clothes, then Mozk should be your one-stop shop. Apart from the swimwear, corsets and dresses, mainly from the ’30s to the ’90s, you can also set your sights on retro furniture and pieces designed especially by the store owners.

By Retro

Shop

This basement-floor hideout has one of the largest selections of vintage finds available in Istanbul. You’ll spend a few hours browsing through leather jackets, wedding dresses, coats, sunglasses and everything in between (neatly organised into sections, thankfully). It’s no surprise that By Retro provides costumes to Turkish TV shows.

Kulis Vintage

Shop

You won’t have to do a lot of sifting at Kulis Vintage, where everything is neatly on display in a non-clutter kind of way. You’ll find second-hand clothing from high-end brands, as well as gorgeous costume jewellery and silk scarves.

Binbavul Vintage

Shop

With a name that translates into ‘One Thousand Suitcases’, you can only imagine what is awaiting you at Binbavul. A huge selection from the ’20s to the ’90s is ready for a good and thorough rummage, while the records, books and cameras are also worth a browse.

Grandma Vintage

Shop

After having worked as Mavi Jeans’ visual merchandiser, Gizem Saluvan changed some things in her life and decided to open Grandma Vintage. In her shop you’ll find the accumulation of her regular visits to local markets and her international trips, including clothing, shoes, bags and accessories, as well as home decoration items and furniture. You’ll be sure to discover something good, because Gizem never buys anything she wouldn’t wear or use herself.
