Switzerland is home to some of the world’s most spectacular ski resorts and there’s no better place to learn or improve your skills. If you are planning a ski holiday but aren’t sure which school to pick, check out our list below.

Altitude Verbier

If you are heading to Verbier and the four valleys, Altitude Verbier comes well recommended. This school offers a wide range of classes (both private and group) for all levels and styles, including snowboarding and an off-piste challenge if you are already confident in your skills. Lessons are predominantly in English, however some of their instructors speak several other languages.

Schweizer Skischule (Saas Fee)

The Schweizer Skischule in Saas Fee follows the Swiss Ski League’s level system (Blue, Red, Black and Academy) and offers courses for everyone from absolute beginners to budding Olympians. Schweizer Ski & Snowboardschule (Zermatt)

Schweizer Ski & Snowboardschule Zermatt’s team have been training the next generation of skiers and snowboarders since 1929. They are the biggest and the oldest school in Zermatt. They boast a team of over 200 professional instructors, many of them were born and bred in the local area and have a great knowledge of the slopes. Children can also learn on the school’s 500 metre private slope at their own pace.

Absolute Powder (Davos)

Absolute Powder sets you up with your own personal instructor and the focus is on private tuition, so you can mould the lesson to your own desires and level. Whatever your experience or interest, you’ll find an instructor here who can help you reach the next stage, and quickly.

Swiss French Academy

If you’re wanting to brush up on your French while learning the ins and outs of skiing, why not roll both into one? The Swiss French Academy offers intensive French language courses and ski lessons the slopes of Crans-Montana in the canton of Valais which has over 140 kilometres of pistes. In between your language classes you’ll take to the slopes to unwind and learn the craft of skiing or snowboarding. At the end of the week you’ll come away with two new skills. Classes are available for beginners, intermediates and advanced learners.
