Located between the superyacht marina of Port Portals and the popular holiday resort of Palma Nova, the St Regis Mardavall leans more towards the swankier. It’s set in some seriously sizeable landscaped gardens, which overlook this pretty stretch of coast. Facilities are abundant, beginning with the enormous Arabella Spa, which qualifies as one of the largest in Europe. The main three-tier pool isn’t short of space either, while Michelin-starred dining and white-gloved butlers complete the five-star experience.

One of the original luxury hotels on the south coast, Nixe Palace still has plenty of old-school grandeur behind the polished beachfront façade. While it no longer attracts the likes of Errol Flynn and Grace Kelly, a raft of upscale features still impresses the most discerning of guests.
