Paisatge

Meaning ‘landscape’ in Catalan, Paisatge is an interactive app which reveals some of the city’s most intriguing architectural features in real time as you walk around the city. Scrap the guidebooks and let yourself wander wherever your intuition takes you as this app points out the best bits to see along the way, from the main monuments to some of the finer and often overlooked details.
Kviar

This is the perfect app for people who don’t want to waste time on researching restaurants only to be disappointed by the result. Created by the gastronomic club of the same name, Kviar enables users to choose from a selection of fine-dining restaurants across the city which have been tried and tested by other members. You can book directly through the app and in most cases you will receive 30% off the bill at the end of the night. In order to use the app you need to become a ‘member’ either by being invited by a friend or applying directly via the website.
Barcelona Pocket Guide

Discover the joys of having your very own personalised audio guide for the whole of Barcelona. Pocket Guide offers a choice of routes throughout the city and uses GPS technology to give you detailed information about the main landmarks and sites of interest along the way as you come across them in real time. Simply plug your headphones in and listen to the guide. The routes are clearly marked on the interactive map with pins for each of the points of interest as well as information about the length and expected duration of the tour.
TMBapp

This is the official app of the transport service of Barcelona, giving you live information about bus and metro routes in the city, as well as helping you plan the best route to where you want to be. You can use TMBapp to get live departure information from any bus stop and by logging in you can personalise the app to receive live alerts about your favourite routes. If you have an Apple or Android smartwatch you’ll be pleased to hear that the app is compatible with them, making it even easier to reach your destination.
JiTT Barcelona Smart City Guide

Like the sound of having an outdoor audio guide but don’t want to be tied to a predetermined route? JiTT allows you to create your own personalised tour of Barcelona by entering the amount of time you would like to spend and your start point. The app will then suggest a route which you can alter by adding or removing specific landmarks along the way. One of the big advantages of JiTT is that once you have downloaded your guide the app works 100% offline, meaning you don’t have to worry about using up your data.
