The Best Romantic Spots To Propose In Madrid

Madrid is full of romantic, fairytale like spots for an unforgettable proposal. Here’s a list of places in Spain’s capital that would make the perfect location to pop the question.

1. Palacio de Cristal

Building, Park

A giant building made of glass with sunlight streaming in, surrounded by green trees and blooming buds can make for a very special proposal. However, this iconic building can be pretty crowded when the weather is nice, so plan to have all eyes on you if you choose the Palacio de Cristal to propose.

2. The Eiffel Tower at Parque Europa

The most cliché of all proposals (but still, girls love it) is asked at the top of the Eiffel Tower. An interesting take on this would be to propose at the bottom of the Eiffel Tower replica at Madrid’s Parque Europa, a green space featuring monument replicas from all over Europe. The only reason you’d have to pop the question at the bottom of the tower is because unfortunately, you’re not allowed to go the top of this version of the Eiffel Tower.

3. In a boat on the lake at Parque del Buen Retiro

It’s clear the Retiro Park is full of memorable locations perfect for a proposal. For a bit of privacy, proposing on a rented rowboat in the middle of the lake offers a romantic, semi-private experience. This would be perfect if you’re a couple who loves boats or water.

5. During sunset at Templo de Debod

Sunset might just be the most romantic time for a proposal, especially at the Templo de Debod. Getting down on one knee in front of a beautiful Egyptian temple as the sky turns hues of reds and oranges will make the proposal an unforgettable one. Even better, bring a bottle of wine to enjoy afterwards to celebrate your future nuptials.

Puerta de Alcalá

Proposing in front of the towering monument Puerta de Alcalá is perfect for such a momentous occasion. The photo memories taken as she admires her ring will be stunning with the archways of the monument behind and against the blooming, colorful flowerbeds.

6. The Rose Garden in the Parque del Buen Retiro

It’s no secret that girls love flowers, and roses are the most romantic variety. The winding, ivy and rose covered trellises of the Roselada at the Retiro Park feature over 4,000 blooming rose bushes, perfect for the woman who swoons over flowers. Before getting down on one knee, though, visit the park to make sure the roses are in bloom, as this typically occurs in the month of May, weather conditions permitting.
