Madrid is filled with gorgeous spots that will make you feel like you’re in a fairytale. Here are some of the coolest spots to check out for a storybook-style vacation.

Go Green

Some of Madrid’s most picturesque spots can be found in the green areas of the city, like parks, gardens or even walls of grass! So check out the rose garden, Crystal Palace or beautiful lake in the Parque del Buen Retiro, the gorgeous Parque de el Capricho, the Real Jardín Botánico, or the wall of grass along the Paseo del Prado by the Caixa Forum for some fairytale greenery.

Relax In A Plaza

Madrid is known for its stunning squares. Romantic cobblestones and quaint terraces line the Plaza Mayor, and the historical Plaza de la Villa is perfect for a charming stroll.

Escape the City

While Madrid’s busy city center is simply beautiful, getting out of the the craziness offers a whole different vibe, while still being part of the Community of Madrid. Segovia‘s famous castle, cathedral and Roman aqueduct and Toledo‘s hilly, small streets and El Greco art are less than an hour away. Plus, the Segovia Castle is basically out of fairytale, conjuring visions of perfect princesses and brave knights.

View the City from Up High

Seeing Madrid from up above is impressive. There are plenty of rooftops to check out for fairytale views of the city, but the Círculo de Bellas Artes has some of the best in the city from all angles. The terrace of the Cibeles Building and the Corte Inglés Gourmet Experience also have some striking city panoramic views too.
