With smart phones in our pockets, digital cameras more affordable than ever, and photo-editing software easily accessible, these days it seems almost everyone thinks themselves a photographer. Nowhere is this more obvious than on Instagram, with its millions of users posting regular shots of anything and everything. Culture Trip has trawled through the thousands of stunning Balearic beach pics, however, and selected six Mallorca-based Instagrammers that are actually worth following.

PERNILLA DANIELSSON (@lifestyle_mallorca)

Pernilla Danielsson is a Swedish photographer and lifestyle blogger living in Mallorca. Her @lifestyle_mallorca Instagram feed features shot after shot of Mallorca at its stunning best. With endless landscapes in dream-like muted tones, not only are the pictures beautiful to look at, but they will make you hanker after life on a sunny island.

Jaume (@j4um3)

With some interesting aerial shots of Mallorca and many varied land and townscape images, there is a lot worth looking at on the @j4m3 Instagram feed. A cursory glance could lead you to think that the content is much the same as the numerous other pages showing shots of the island’s landscape and architecture, but there are some really interesting shots, and the quality of the images is a cut above much of the standard Mallorca pics. Boats are a recurrent theme, and there is a particularly impressive and haunting image of the boats at Porto Colom just before a rainstorm breaks. Well worth following.

Palma Ciutat (@palma_ciutat)

One of the few Mallorcan Instagram feeds showing something more than cheerful blue skies and beach and landscape shots, @palma ciutat posts a daily black-and-white photo of Palma, city life, and its inhabitants. An interesting source of social commentary through imagery, it marks a welcome change from the inspirational lifestyle shots on most other pages.

Dani Núñez (@danuez911)

Dani Núñez is a 24-year-old with a passion for photography, who views Instagram as the perfect outlet for his passion for life in his home city of Palma. Many of the images on his @danuez911 are taken at sunset or at that magical moment as the light just starts to change late in the day, and most are colourful and playful shots of figures (usually himself) with faces obscured in one way or another.

Ramon Llobera (@llob 1)

Highly stylised and with lots of post-production, Ramon Llobera’s shots of Mallorcan landscapes are often incredibly dramatic, while others also perfectly capture the minutiae of a moment in time. His @llob1 Instagram feed is one for lovers of nature and digital technology alike, and it shows off Mallorca’s natural beauty to dramatic effect.

Mallorca Magic (@mallorcamagic)

The @mallorcamagic Instagram feed is a vision of blue and turquoise, with a seemingly endless stream of stunning beach shots. There are a few cityscapes and architectural shots too, but this page’s main objective is to show off the countless white sandy beaches and picturesque coves that Mallorca has to offer. One to follow if you’re keen to see which beaches you’d like to visit or if you just like staring at images of turquoise seas and wishing you weren’t sat inside at a desk.
