The Best Golf Courses in Koh Samui, Thailand

One of Thailand’s most popular islands, Koh Samui offers a wide range of activities and attractions. It is especially known for its sandy beaches, unusual cultural sites, and high-class spas. It is also one of the best places in Thailand for golf enthusiasts. Perfect your swing or have some friendly competition at one of these top golf courses in Koh Samui.
Santiburi Samui Country Club
Sports Center

Said to be the best golf club in Koh Samui, the 18-hole Santiburi Samui Country Club is situated on the island’s northern coast. It provides striking views of white sandy beaches, coconut plantations, and green hills. The golf club has top-class facilities and it has hosted several major events, including the 2006 Bangkok Airways Open. There are dining and drinking establishments, a pro golf shop, laundry facilities, and modern changing rooms. Guests can also take advantage of expert golf instruction. Packages are available that combine a day of golfing with a blissful spa treatment too.
Royal Samui Golf & Country Club
Sports Center

Offering great views and lush landscapes, Royal Samui Golf and Country Club is a nine-hole course with a par of 36. Players can admire beautiful views of Koh Samui’s beaches as they play, and the design means that the course doesn’t suffer as the seasons change. Sitting in the hills above Chaweng and Lamai, the golf course is better suited to experienced golfers. Golf carts are available to rent, but there are no caddies available here.
Samui Golf Club and Driving Range
Sports Center

Samui Golf Club and Driving Range sits on the hillside in a peaceful location surrounded by verdant nature. There’s a 250-yard driving range where you can work on your swinging technique, a putting green, a bunker area, and an area to practice chipping. You can also have golf lessons from a specialist. Equipment is available to rent and there’s an onsite restaurant that serves Western and Thai cuisine.
Lamai Driving Range
Sports Center

If you’re keen to practice your technique, or want some golfing fun without actually heading around a course, Lamai Driving Range is ideal. It’s inexpensive and clubs are available to hire. Attracting more Thai golfers than international tourists, the driving range can be found behind the local temple. It’s just a short distance from Lamai Beach too.
Lamai Mini Golf
Sports Center

Lamai Mini Golf is a fun place to take the kids and take aim with your clubs at each hole. Located near Lamai Beach, there are 18 themed holes, some of which have uphill swings. You’ll come across a tiger, whale, and more as you make your way around the attractive course. Food and drinks are available and discounts are available for kids.
Koh Som Disc Golf Course
Sports Center

Located on a private island just off the northern coast of Koh Samui, Koh Som Disc Golf Course offers a tropical game experience. You won’t need to swing but rather, you’ll have to get your throwing aim on point. With rules similar to regular golf, disc golf requires throwing a Frisbee-like disc around the course, then aiming for the holes and baskets marked with poles. The views are scenic. Because the land is privately owned, the course has limited opening hours; if you’re interested in paying a visit, you should contact the club in advance to make arrangements.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.
Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.
Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.
We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
