Located in the Al Sharqiya region in eastern Oman, Wadi Shab, or Wadi Ash Shab, is one of the most spectacular wadis in Oman. It lies on the coastal road of Sur, around 140 kilometres (87 miles) away from Muscat. This wadi is known for its submerged cave with waterfalls, rocky cliffs and turquoise pools. It’s also a great place for hiking, rock-climbing, swimming, walking and camping. Besides its breathtaking views, Wadi Shab has an amazing environmental biodiversity.

Wadi Bani Khalid

Wadi Bani Khalid is another mind-blowing wadi, located in the Al Sharqiya region in eastern Oman, around 203 kilometres (126 miles) from Muscat. This wadi is distinguished by its caves that are scattered around its corners and large pools that have a constant flow of water throughout the year. Wadi Bani Khalid lies in between several magnificent mountains and crosses through several villages.

Wadi Al Abriyeen

Located in the Al Sharqiyah region, Wadi Al Arabiyeen, Wadi Al Arbaeen or Wadi Al Arabieen, is one of the most beautiful wadis in Oman. It features four villages on the side of both of its banks. These villages are famous for planting palm trees, bananas, mango and lemon trees. This wadi has several freshwater pools, waterfalls, lakes and rocky areas.

Wadi Damm

Wadi Damm, Wadi Dhum or Wadi Dham, is located in the Al Dhahirah region, about 45 kilometres (28 miles) away from the city of Ibri. It is a seasonal wadi in the sense that water doesn’t continuously run through it throughout the year because it depends on rain. Wadi Damm is distinguished by its unique rocky formations, smooth rocks and water bonds that are scattered around its lands. This wadi offers a great place for picnicking, having a barbecue and camping.

Wadi Al Hawqayn is another spectacular wadi in Oman that is about 150 kilometres (93 miles) away from Muscat. This wadi is distinguished by its beautiful year-round flowing waterfalls and water springs.

Wadi Ad Dayqah

Wadi Ad Dayqah, or Wadi Dhaiqah, is a convergence of at least 120 smaller wadis. It stretches from Wilayat Dimma Wa Tayeen in the Al Sharqiyah North Governorate to Wilayat Qurayat in the Muscat Governorate. It has two dams, one of which is considered the biggest in the country. With its year-round flowing crystal waters, Wadi Ad Dayqah is one of the most beautiful natural attractions in Oman.

Wadi Tiwi

Wadi Tiwi is another wadi located in the Al Sharqiyah region in Oman, two kilometres (1.24 miles) away from Wadi Shab. Due to the fertility of the wadi’s soil, it is distinguished by numerous farms and plantations, which gives it a greener look and feel. Besides its crystal-clear waters and the amazing mountains that surround it, Wadi Tiwi has several plantations over its rocky cliffs and agricultural villages around its banks.

Wadi Darbat is one of the most beautiful wadis in Dhofar in southern Oman and the most visited wadi in the region. Each year, during the Khareef (monsoon) season from July to September, the wadi’s water flows through hills and highlands and descends from mountains forming mind-blowing waterfalls that are 30 metres (100 feet) high. Wadi Darbat is one of the must-visit attractions in the region and is an absolute breathtaking escape for all nature lovers.
