Anwar Sonya

Anwar Sonya is one of the founding pioneers of contemporary Omani art, one of the founders of the Omani Art Movement and the “Godfather of Omani Art”. He is inspired by his homeland; the charming Dhofar region in southern Oman, where Omani Bedouin women project an exceptional meaning of real beauty. Most of Sonya’s work has the main theme of Omani heritage, which reflects authenticity and is expressed through an outstanding contemporary artistic vision.
