What does it take to get guys into a salon specialising in women’s hair care? Fire, of course.

In a bid to attract more male customers, this salon in India has developed an interesting new method of cutting hair – and proudly claims “It’s LIT.”

A flaming haircut may not be for everyone, but at Kaizo Salon N Spa, you’re in expert hands

The stylists at Kaizo Salon N Spa think flames make the perfect styling tool, and they even claim it helps improve the quality of your hair by whipping off split ends.

After coming up with a plan to introduce haircuts using fire, the salon’s founder, Meet Gala, developed a special chemical that simultaneously protects the head and encourages the flames to do their work. Watching these specialists at work is a spectacle of fire management and speedy combing. Run-of-the-mill scissor skills are rendered redundant.

Gala assures it’s perfectly safe, with the client feeling no burning sensation whatsoever. A special scent is added to the formula, to mask the smell of burnt hair. Still unsure? Countless men have tried it and can testify.

This unique idea has improved the salon’s business, thanks to the publicity gained through social media. Clients are encouraged to take selfies and share their experience by posting the results online. There’s no denying the trend has grown, and Kaizo now welcome scores of men hoping to achieve stylish results, with the bonus of a flaming wow factor.

Although employing fire to style hair is not entirely unheard of (legend has it that Cleopatra used red-hot blades to cut hers), Kaizo Salon is reportedly the first to target men and bring the technique to the masses.

Currently, the Kaizo Salons in Mumbai are the only places offering this treatment officially (and safely), as other barbers have so far been unable to develop the necessary products to achieve the same results.

While it receives top marks for ingenuity, describing this as ‘hair technology’ might be a bit too much. How far would you go to achieve the perfect hairstyle?
