There’s a lot to choose from, so we’ve picked the 10 best bars for your trip.


1. London Street

London Street lives up to its name, with decor designed to resemble and old British pub. Ironically, it serves a lot of Chinese and Indian food, which are delicious choices for evening meals even if not falling in line with the British theme – and is home to a large variety of international brews.

2. Liquid Lounge

There are many pubs and bars in Mangalore – and then there is Liquid Lounge. It is perhaps Mangalore’s best bar and has set the standard for every other establishment in the city, attracting large crowds with lush sofas and tables, a well-prepared menu, attentive service and great music.

3. Froth On Top

One of Mangalore’s most famous places to grab a drink, Froth On Top is where you’ll find a real cross-section of the community. Maybe it’s due to the venue – a rustic and traditional home converted into a bar with a homely feel. Froth On Top serves only beers, mocktails and breezers, and the food is delicious with burgers, sandwiches and Chinese dishes making up most of the menu.

4. Mangala

Mangala has a well established presence in Mangalore, with a simple, charming atmosphere that has made it a favourite watering-hole for many locals. Expect to find friendly folk, delicious food and great drinks here, alongside live music gigs. They serve the best burgers and kebabs in town, enjoyed alongside one of their trademark cocktails.

Café Mojo is one of the most popular and most unusual bars in the city. From the wooden bar and chairs to carpets and a fireplace, visitors will feel like they’ve entered a British pub. One of its most unusual features? Each table has a unique beer tap which records the amount of beer dispensed, so customers pay by volume rather than per glass.

6. The Jazz

DV8 is a chilled out place to go and have a drink or a dance at the weekend. Located in the Empire Mall, it’s the best place in Mangalore for loud music and parties. The food is mainly consists of Chinese cuisine, and the bar offers both lighter nibbles or main meals. The bar is well stocked with a variety of drinks, all at reasonable prices.

8. G6 Music Café
