So you’re in Lima and you want to go somewhere special with your loved one—not to worry. At first glance Lima may not seem like the most romantic city around, but that’s just because you don’t know where to go. Here is a guide to the perfect night out in Lima with your special someone.

Malecón

Lima’s boardwalk along the beach side cliff is stunning, especially at sunset. The renovated boardwalk is one of the highlights of Miraflores. Rent bikes with your date just before sunset. You can ride as far as San Isidro and then head back, stopping at coffee shops along the way and enjoying unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean. A must stop is Parque del Amor, which has the two statues making out: it’s kinda hard to miss.

La Puente de Suspiros

The bridge of sighs in Barranco is legendary. It is known for inspiring local artists and musicians, some even dedicating songs to the inspirational bridge. Its beauty isn’t just for the artistically inlined, however. At night, when the lights come on and as the sun decends it becomes the most magical spot in all of Peru. You can grab some snacks and even cocktails on the bridge. It is also near Barranco’s best bars.

Circuito Mágico del Agua

The water park isn’t just for kids to enjoy on hot days. At night they put on water light shows and the entire place is lit with a romantic glow. You’ll always find smiling and happy people. It also makes for great pictures!

Carriage ride in the historical center

Lima’s historical center is known for its remarkable buildings and architecture, making it one of the best walks to take in Lima. Why not take it a step further and take a horse and carriage ride around the plaza de armas.

1. Charming Barranco

Barranco is so beautiful that it has to be on the list twice. A perfect evening would be walking around the streets of Barranco, admiring the street art and the colorful houses before eating dinner at one of Barranco’s many delicious restaurants. End the night at Ayahuasca, drinking handcrafted cocktails in an old colonial mansion.

Parque Kennedy

Parque Kennedy, named after the American President, is one of Lima’s most beautiful parks. You can enjoy an old colonial church or take a stroll looking for the park’s famous street cats, which can number in the hundreds. Some nights you can find live shows and art presentations. Restaurants and Miraflores’ best bars are all walking distance away.

2. A world class restaurant

Restaurant, Diner, Contemporary

Lima is known throughout the world for its cuisine and world class restaurants, making a date at one of the top ones an easy choice. Impress your date with your knowledge of Peruvian food. If you really want to go all out, take your loved one Restaurante Central, voted best restaurant in the world.

Parque el Olivar de San Isidro

Bring a picnic and set up somewhere near the pond in Olivar Park in San Isidro. If you want to escape the noise of Lima, there’s no better place than this park. It’ll be quiet and romantic, everything you want on a date. Don’t forget to bring a bottle of wine and a cheese platter.
