The sprawling metropolis that is Peru’s capital city Lima is home to three key neighborhoods or barrios that have their own unique personalities: bohemian Barranco for great nightlife and galleries; flower-filled Miraflores for authentic comedores (dining rooms); and well-to-do San Isidro for, yep, more restaurants (this is Lima after all). Wherever you choose, it’s still possible to keep costs down, as plenty of hostels have emerged in renovated colonial mansions, many retaining original features.
