One of the best things to do in Barranco is just sit back and soak up the bohemian vibe. And, perhaps aside from local hangouts like the plaza and the Puente de los Suspiros, there is no better place to do so than the suburb’s plethora of trendy cafés. Here are the best spots to sip a latte in this trendy Lima neighborhood.

La Bodega Verde

Cafe, Coffee, Wine, Beer, Fast Food, Vegetarian, Peruvian

Nestled among a leafy walled garden, La Bodega Verde is an excellent spot to chill out and relax for a while. Boards games are available to keep guests entertained, while menu items such as milkshakes with fruit picked fresh from the garden, as well as organic Peruvian coffee always go down a treat.

Delifrance

Bakeries in Barranco don’t get much better than Delifrance, a delightful French-inspired patisserie that serves some of the best sweet and savory goodies in the neighborhood. Seating space is rather limited, so most customers grab a bite to take away to one of the nearby parks and plazas instead.

Café Tostado

Cafe, Restaurant, Peruvian

Perhaps more of a restaurant than a café, the team at Tostado are best known for their tasty Peruvian fare served in ridiculously large portions. Nevertheless, they roast a superb blend of local beans known as Tunki, which attracts coffee connoisseurs from all over Barranco.

Tostaduria Bisetti

Cafe, Contemporary

A must for coffee aficionados in Barranco, Tostaduria Bisetti have been honing their Italian-inspired coffee-making skills since the 1950s, all the while exclusively sourcing their beans from the finest organic coffee farms in Peru. The ambiance isn’t bad either, largely thanks to antique decorations found throughout this colonial-era manion as well as regular artistic and cultural events.

Sofá Café Barranco

Cafe, Restaurant, Peruvian, Seafood, Coffee, Dessert

True to its name, Sofá Café is famous for—you guessed it—its sofas. Huge, comfortable, and plentiful, guests are sure to enjoy some serious slouching on their numerous plush and cushy benches. Of course, the coffee and desserts aren’t bad and there are a bunch of more rigid seating apparatuses to choose from as well.

Twins Cafe GF

Cafe, Peruvian, Coffee, Tea , Fast Food, Vegetarian

Not keen on gluten? Then Twins Café GF is the place to be in Barranco thanks to their expansive menu of pizzas, sandwiches, cakes, and pasta that are entirely gluten-free. Most of the produce is also organic and, best of all, everything on offer is surprisingly delicious as well.

Mae Capisaria

Cafe, Peruvian, Dessert, Pastries, Fast Food, Vegetarian

Cleanliness, comfort, friendly service and an excellent rotating menu bring a steady stream of locals to this popular Barranco café. The prices on their coffee and pastry combos are very reasonable, while a selection of vintage comic books is a great way to pass an hour or two.
