This guide is for the party animals among you who are looking to escape the booming reggaeton for a more international scene and some musical variety. Santiago has become a crucial stop-off for international pop-stars and DJs alike, creating a more diverse music scene that has encouraged locals to branch out, too. Here are the best places to check out some electronic music in the city of Santiago, Chile.

La Feria

Originally an old theatre in the heart of Bellavista, La Feria is now Santiago’s most famous electronic nightclub, boasting great acoustics, a Funktion One sound system and some striking light shows. They have welcomed the likes of Richie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos, Guy J and Luciano and hosted events by Budweiser, BudLab, Absolut and Pisco Mistral as well as offering weekly line-ups featuring a range of electronic and techno DJs.

Club Amanda

With a handful of club nights each week, Amanda has hosted Pacha Ibiza on tour, as well as the usual 80s and 90s nights. Club nights specialise in electronic music and you can find a party here every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. There are also plenty of live music nights and the crowd from Vitacura tend to keep this club on the classy side.

Piknic Electronik

During the summer months, these lively al-fresco afternoon parties are held in one of Santiago’s parks, bringing world-renowned DJs to the city. With drinks stalls, food trucks, deck chairs and bunting, this mini-festival is a great place to gather with friends and spend a fun afternoon and evening.

This Berlin-esque club is extremely rough around the edges: enter a dilapidated building that’s covered in graffiti to find the edgiest crowd in Santiago listening to techno and electronic music while slurping beers or glugging piscolas. Don your quirkiest and grungiest outfit before you head here!

Microclub

Another of Bellavista’s finest haunts for electro lovers, Micro is a little less grungy than its friend Mamba. With different promoters organising events, there’s a great range of wild nights, with local DJs playing as well as more well-known ones.

Club Subterranéo

A little more on the alternative and experimental side, Subterranéo hosts a wide range of nights. Check the forthcoming events on their page; they hold different events from Tuesday to Saturday each week.

Casa Yungay

School

Enter this quirky house in Barrio Yungay, where the party is not your average house party! This spacious old-school house provides a fun night out without the hassle of clubbing; it feels like a gathering of international students after a good time and some good vibes.
