Chileans are extremely proud of having the tallest building in Latin America, as well as having an incredible shopping mall. Boasting international shopping brands and Chilean boutiques, both Argentinians and Brazilians travel to Santiago to shop here. But there’s more than shopping to be enjoyed in the Costanera Centre.

Enjoy international shopping brands

You would think you were in Europe when you step into the Costanera Centre and immediately spot Topshop and H&M. These international stores are extremely popular in Chile, and you will also spot high street names Zara and Forever 21 just around the corner. If you’re missing your favourite fashion stores, look no further.

Visit Sky Costanera

Take the lift up to the viewpoint of Sky Costanera, which is the tallest building in Latin America. The viewpoint soars up above all the high-rises at 300 metres, and you can walk around the observation deck where you can see a 360° panoramic view over the city. Watching the sunset from here is spectacular.

Watch a film

The Costanera boasts a great cinema, Cineplanet, which has 12 cinema rooms and two 3D rooms so that you really can get all the effects of your 3D film! Do not fear: not all the films are in Spanish – if the film is originally English you can usually choose between subtitulada (subtitled) or doblada (dubbed, which will be in Spanish).

Taste some fro yo

Stop by Yogen Früz for some delicious fro yo – the pots you can fill yourself are large and you can put as many flavours of frozen yoghurt in as you like – from acai to lucuma and chirimoya as well as natural yoghurt, it’s hard to decide. You can then add your toppings, whether you go for fruit or sweets and chocolate. It is then weighed to determine the cost.

Get a makeover

Make your way over to cosmetic stores Bobbi Brown and MAC where you will be overwhelmed with the slight variations of all the hues for skin colours and lip colours. If you’re in the market for some new makeup, why not have a makeover by the beautician and try it out.

Check out the Chilean department stores

Chile does department stores well, and Falabella is the oldest and largest, not only in Chile but in South America. Runners up, and by no means inferior are Almacenes París, Ripley, and Cencosud, all of which have multiple floors and goods, from fashion items, accessories, beauty products and much more. Keep an eye out for Cyber Monday deals when all these stores have hugely discounted prices.

Shop at Bimba Y Lola

Fashion addicts absolutely must check out Bimba Y Lola. Created by two Spanish sisters, it is one of the fastest growing labels in the world. The prints are colourful and whimsical, and very eye catching. The girls take inspiration from all over the world, which must be why they’re so popular.

Craving fast food?

If you’re looking for a cheap and quick bite, the food court offers many fast food joints, including Burger King, Domino’s Pizza, China Wok, KFC, McDonald’s, Take a Wok, Sushi Blues, and many more. If you and your friend can’t decide on the same cuisine, you can both sit in the communal area and eat whatever tickles your pickle.

Date night?

For something less greasy and a little more sophisticated, why not try one of the independent restaurants that are also found on the fifth floor. From Italian to French, and seafood to steaks, why not accompany your evening meal with a glass of Chilean wine.

Buy presents

If you’re looking for something special for that someone special, you are not short of stores to find the perfect gift. Costanera has five stories full of stores ranging from women’s and men’s fashion, accessories, beauty shops, jewellery, interior design, and plenty of kids toy shops.
