Sitting in the town of El Chaltén, you can distinguish those who are heading out towards the trails and the ones who are heading back by the look on their windswept faces and in the way they gingerly walk, looking to minimize the impact on their aching joints. Every hiker returning from the trails will all unanimously agree it is well worth it, and the post-hike hunger has provided a market for a great selection of splendid restaurants in this little mountain town.

Well, maybe a quick look at the dessert menu before you call it a night.

Mainly Spanish and Italian cuisine, La Cava is a diamond in the rugged surroundings of Patagonia, as the cooks take every dish seriously, as you will even be wowed by your caesar salad here.
