Wine may be the drink most commonly associated with Argentina, but El Bolsón is at the heart of Argentina’s craft beer revolution. Read on for five of the best bars that this offbeat and outdoorsy town has to offer.

El Bolsón

Dos Ruedas

For a laid-back and relaxing evening in a welcoming environment, look no further than Dos Ruedas, a friendly and casual pub. Check out the sports nearly always playing on the TV, or get competitive on your own terms at one of the pool tables.

Travelers seeking an exuberant atmosphere will enjoy this bar, which hosts live music acts on Saturdays. Or, stop by on a Friday night, when the bar transforms into a disco, in order to dance to the best tunes.

Cocktail Bar Absentha

Bar, Cocktail Bar, Pub, Cocktails, Wine, Beer, Pub Grub, Snacks, Fast Food

The name says it all – Absentha specializes in cocktails, and it does them well. Indulge in a tipple from the menu of classic drinks and order up some of the bar’s tasty Tex-Mex-inspired snacks if hunger strikes.

Cerveceria Otto Tipp

Don’t miss this iconic bar to taste a selection of micro-brews, made onsite. With six varieties to choose from, including a pilsner humorously named ‘Gringa’, and free samples of all of them, there’s no way to go wrong here. Top off the visit with a taste of some regional fare, like Patagonian lamb. Patagonian lamb | © freecandy13/Flickr

Cerveceria El Bolsón

Grab a window seat at this lovely brewery for a view of the sun-dappled valley as you enjoy your pint. Choose from excellently-rendered standards including wheat beers, pilsner, and more, or get adventurous with the chili pepper beer or a seasonal brew. Coeliacs will be happy to know that gluten-free beers are on offer as well.
