Córdoba is a lovely Argentine city often outshone by the country’s capital, Buenos Aires. Take the time to visit and you’ll be rewarded with some great sights along with many good restaurants – we have selected the best restaurants in Córdoba Centro.

La Zete

Restaurant, Middle Eastern

With décor and posters inspired by the Middle East, La Zete is an authentic and original restaurant which offers a deliciously tempting menu of sweet and savory Arab-inspired dishes. Recommended are the kepe (spiced minced meat), fried eggplant and the array of dips, from the regular hummus to the exciting smoked babaganoush. To sample a bit of everything, opt for the sampler plate to have it all in small portions.

Bar San Carlos

Bar, Argentina

It’s not the most fancy place and you won’t find it on Facebook or Instagram, but Bar San Carlos is about as typical Argentine as you can get. A traditional parrilla, or Argentine steak house, Bar San Carlos mainly serves fresh meat cooked on the coals with side chips and salad. Although it is simple, with meat this good and a place so full of character as this there’s little more you could ask for. Cheap, cheerful and traditional, this is a great place to get a feel for real Argentine food.

Perfect for a romantic lunchtime date, head downtown to Novecento and gaze at your partner by candlelight while sampling some of Córdoba’s finest international food. A cute café-restaurant, its pretty courtyard provides an atmospheric setting where customers can enjoy its delicious food and fine wines. Treat yourself to their tasty desserts and don’t miss out on the constantly changing yet always tempting daily specials.

Alcorta

Restaurant, Argentina, Steakhouse, Vegetarian

Some regulars say this upscale parrilla Alcorta is the best in town. Whether that’s true is up for debate, as Córdoba offers many excellent meat restaurants. However, at Alcorta you can definitely experience the classier end of Argentine steak houses, where big beefy steaks are served in an elegant setting alongside some top notch fine wines. Vegetarians needn’t feel forgotten, as this restaurant also has some great pasta dishes on offer.

Sushi Club

Restaurant, Sushi

While you might not have immediately thought of sushi when considering eating out in Argentina, you can head to Sushi Club for a break from the tons of meat you’ll have been eating and try some of their fresh and light sushi dishes. With all the classic rolls and some beautifully made sashimi, Sushi Club has a small but perfectly adequate menu on which every dish is sure to tempt. Wash the sushi down with an Asahi beer and feel like you’re in Tokyo for the day.

Sol y Luna

Restaurant, Argentina

Sol y Luna is as un-Argentine as it gets, they serve no red meat, in fact they don’t serve any meat at all. At this all-veggie restaurant guests can nibble their way through expertly crafted vegetarian mains, so good that they won’t miss the meat. Here you can pay by weight for a help-yourself buffet or choose from a small selection of dishes on the set menu. The place is only open for lunch, so make the most of this local gem for a healthy change from the heavy steaks.

Bursatil

Bar, Restaurant, Argentina

Bursatil is just the kind of hip, exciting new restaurant that makes Cordoba a city worth visiting. A stylish modern café located in the old part of town, it serves incredible coffee and it offers a simple yet delicious food menu, dominated by Asian-inspired foods and flavors. Although the place is closed in the evenings, you can still happily sip a gin and tonic here during the day and soak up its buena ondaor good vibes.
