The giant lampshades hanging from the ceiling, worn tables, and terracotta walls create a vintage cabaret, or classy gentleman’s club feel. And with the pool table in the back, art hanging from every wall, and the live music playing most nights, Elwood Lounge is a great place to go to be entertained. It has a cozy outside area to the back, and food offers all through the week for a satisfying but cheap dining experience.

The menu is small here but there are separate breakfast, lunch, and dinner choices and plenty of specials, making it easier for people who struggle with making a decision. The Joinery staff are very helpful and chatty, they’re also quite flexible on their ingredients. There are cute little details in the decor like: hanging baskets, loose dangling lightbulbs, plants in boxes on the walls, and a singer sewing machine table. There are also gorgeous window seats at either side of the door, and the exposed brickwork makes you feel like you’re eating in an old farm cottage kitchen.
