Sydney is home to some of the world’s most beautiful beaches and a stunning harbour, meaning fresh seafood is never far away. From fresh fish markets to seaside restaurants, here is our list of the best places to enjoy seafood in Sydney.

1. North Bondi Fish

Restaurant, Seafood, Australian, Vegan, Vegetarian, Fast Food, Gluten-free

Perched on the northern end of Bondi Beach overlooking the water, North Bondi Fish is the most idyllic location to enjoy a long, lazy lunch and a menu curated by Matt Moran himself. The relaxed vibe and beachy décor will make you feel like you’re on holiday, while the spanner crab spaghetti and wood-fired prawns with smoked chili and lime will make you feel like you’re in heaven. The cocktail menu is equally as summery, with fruity cocktails, like the watermelon martini made with fresh juice, goji berry liqueur and vanilla syrup, and their very own homemade sodas.

2. House of Crabs

Restaurant, Seafood, Fusion, Beer

Like crabs? Well, you’re in luck! As the name suggests, House of Crabs is the place is to go for crabs of any variety, from blue swimmer to king. You can order your favourite type of crab by the 500-gram-serving and choose a sauce, including Singapore creole butter, and lemon pepper. There are also plenty of sides to choose from, like fries with lobster gravy and bacon, as well as chopped salad.

3. Sydney Fish Market

Market, Food Stall, Canteen, Seafood, Australian, Wine, Beer

Where better to feast on fresh seafood than at Sydney’s Fish Market? Opening bright and early each day, the market is the go-to place to find some of the best restaurants in the city and try their produce. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips.
