Here’s your guide to some of Perth’s best Christmas markets in 2017 showcasing some of Western Australia’s (WA) most creative artisans, fresh produce and all-round Christmas cheer.

Perth Home Grown

Market

It’s only fitting that a market celebrating Western Australia’s incredible fresh produce is in the middle of the city every Sunday from 11.00am-4.00pm. Perth Home Grown is teeming with year round sustainable fresh produce, and during the silly season, expect to find handmade gifts and homewares guaranteed to earn brownie points on the uniqueness scale with your family and friends.

Twilight Hawkers Market

Market, Street Food, Vegetarian, Halal

Forrest Place is especially busy on Friday nights with the Twilight Hawkers Markets celebrating Perth’s multicultural cuisine from October to April from 4.30pm-9.30pm. Granted, its not technically a market dedicated to Christmas, but, since its in the heart of the city and surrounded by shops, you may want to stop for some snacks throughout your gift shopping. After all, no-one should have to make those all important Christmas decisions while hungry.

Perth Upmarket

Market

As the Perth Upmarket is quarterly and the next one runs on Sunday, 26 November, 2017, 10.00am-4.00pm, you’ll be impressively super organised with your Christmas shopping this year. The market features the wares of over 200 creatives and gourmands and is situated within the magnificent Winthrop Hall at the University of Western Australia. All the products are made or designed in Western Australia, and founder Justine Barsley has fostered a collaborative community within the arts industry as well as raising money for Guide Dogs WA. And what could be more charitable than that?

Joondalup Twilight Markets

Approximately 40 minutes north of Perth, Joondalup is WA’s second city. Spanning over five weeks, on Friday nights from 5.30-9.00pm, from 17 November until 15 December, 2017, there’s no need to make any rush decisions on the local arts, clothing, jewellery and homewares. There’s also plenty of nourishment and entertainment to keep punters coming back over consecutive weeks. Contact the City for more details.

Inglewood Night Markets

Monday nights are no longer deemed boring in the suburb of Inglewood, especially on Beaufort Street spanning from the 6th to the 11th Avenue intersections from 6.00-9.30pm. Start at Mondos Meats and meet local personality Vince Garreffa, aka the Prince of Flesh, who is the man behind the community-run Inglewood Night Markets. With an emphasis on food, you’ll endear yourself to both family and friends through their stomachs.

Bazaar WA's Best Christmas Market

Market, Australian

Its a Christmas extravaganza for three fun days at the Fremantle Arts Centre. The markets usually run in early December, and the dates are yet to be finalised and more details to come at the Fremantle Arts Centre Bazaar. Built in the 1860s, the Gothic building has a colourful past, kept well and truly alive. Its line-up of performances, exhibitions and courses run throughout the year, and if you happen to miss the markets, Fremantle Arts Centre is a treasure trove of locally made wares.
