With the price of cinema tickets soaring, a dinner and movie date can add up. Luckily, Green Bay offers a lot of fun activities that are either free or relatively inexpensive. If you want to impress your date without breaking the bank, be sure to check out these affordable date suggestions.

Bay Beach Amusement Park

The Bay Beach Amusement Park is a great date spot. If it’s a first date, the fun rides can help break the ice and afterwards you can enjoy some cotton candy with your crush. With over 20 rides, the date can last as long as you want it to, and at only 25 cents per ticket, it’s also very affordable.

Farmers’ Market on Broadway

Dropping by the Farmers’ Market on Broadway can turn out to be two dates in one. Pick locally-grown fruits and vegetables as you stroll through the historic downtown Broadway district. Enjoy the entertainment and the lively spirit of the place. Then, take your purchases home to cook a homemade, candlelit dinner for two together.

NEW Zoo & Adventure Park

For less than the price of a movie ticket, you and your date can spend an entire day at the NEW Zoo. It’s home to more than 200 animals from 90 different species from all corners of the globe. If it’s a special occasion, you can even ‘adopt‘ an animal on your loved one’s behalf.

Comedy City Improv

Perhaps nothing is more attractive than a sense of humor. For a night full of fun and laughter, check out one of the ComedyCity improv troupe’s performances at The Green Room in De Pere. While the normal shows will run you about the same price as a movie ticket, the family-friendly version is less than half the cost.

Oneida Nation Walk of Legends

If your date is a football fan, following the Oneida Nation Walk of Legends is a fun way to spend some quality time together. The one-mile long walk begins at Lambeau Field and features 24 statues commemorating the history and legends of the Green Bay Packers. The statues tell the team’s history in chronological order and also contain information about the Oneida Tribe, the sponsor of the Walk of Legends.

Ashwaubomay Lake

Cuddle up on the sandy shore or go for a dip in Ashwaubomay Lake on a hot summer day. While there is an admission fee, the lake area includes fun extras such as diving boards, floating mats, and a sand volleyball court. Bring a picnic to enjoy and enjoy a day together in the sun.

Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary

Love animals? Share your passion for wildlife on a trip to the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary. This 600-acre complex rehabilitates sick and injured animals, provides nature education opportunities, and includes miles of hiking trail for a romantic stroll. It is also free and open to the public year-round.

Badger State Brewing Company

A tour of the Badger State Brewing Company’s brewery is good value for your money. You and your date will be treated to a 45-minute long tour where you’ll learn more about how the beer is crafted and the inspiration behind it, and you’ll also get two full pours included with the ticket price and a souvenir glass.

Captain’s Walk Winery

Want to impress your date with your knowledge of fine wines? Head over to Captain’s Walk Winery. A wine tasting might seem intimidating at first, but their relaxed atmosphere creates a welcoming environment to learn about wine and the winemaking process. With incredibly reasonably priced tasting options, it’s a great way to kick off a romantic evening.

Kastle Park

Green Bay’s Kastle Park has a little bit of everything for everyone at a reasonable price. Whether you want to chase your date around on the go-kart track, bump into them with bumper boats, or challenge them to a competitive game of mini-golf, there are plenty of options here that won’t break the bank.

Green Bay Botanical Garden

The Green Bay Botanical Garden is the ideal spot for a casual day date and is free of charge. Walk hand-in-hand through the 47 acres or cozy up to your loved one on one of the benches throughout the garden. The Botanical Garden gets even more magical in the winter months when over 200,000 holiday lights are on display.
