Chateau Morrisette Winery

The Chateau Morrisette Winery can be found in the city of Floyd, which is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of southwest Virginia. Come to this location for the elevated, scenic views and stay for the vast variety of delicious wines. Sample 10 of the 34 wines produced at Chateau Morrisette at one of the standard or elite wine tastings. Just a short trip from Charlottesville is Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyards, where the natural beauty of the mountains will take your breath away. In addition to the beauty of the surroundings, Pippin Hill amazes visitors with its architecture. The wine tastings take place in the covered stone terrace on a handcrafted bar. For any special occasion there is also a barn-inspired event space, The Granary, with spectacular brass chandeliers and modern technology to make any occasion go smoothly.

Abingdon Vineyard and Winery

For a striking riverside vineyard in southwest Virginia, take the scenic drive down to Abington Vineyard and Winery. The quaint and quiet atmosphere of the establishment, along with the wine, makes it the ideal location to escape the stresses of everyday life. This winery is located near several of the region’s best trails and therefore is ideal for lovers of wildlife and nature. During the week, Abingdon Vineyard and Winery offers wine tastings for free, so there truly is no reason to miss out on this great spot.

Barboursville Vineyards

Visitors can try the wines any day of the week in the Tuscan Tasting Room, and those visiting at the weekend also have the option of tasting vintages in Library 1821. To take in the depth of beauty and history of this property, go on a free tour offered at the weekends and do a self-guided tour of Thomas Jefferson’s Landmark Ruins.

A stunning destination nestled in the Virginia mountains is Veritas Vineyard and Winery in Afton. The grounds are meticulously maintained and the views are unbeatable. The large rustic interior is comfortable and provides a cozy place to enjoy a glass of wine. For those who prefer the outdoors, they can settle in on the large veranda and soak in the views. Visitors who are in the area over the summer should come to one of the Starry Night events featuring live music and dancing.

King Family Vineyards

From the terrace of the King Family Vineyards in Crozet, guests overlook the beautiful and vast fields of grape vines. This family oriented business makes guests feel welcomed and warm from the moment they arrive. Unlike most other wineries and vineyards, the King Family Vineyard hosts polo matches on their field for the enjoyment of guests. In the colder months, they have a fireplace and cozy spots for guests to warm up. Fans of quality wine, stunning landscapes, and exciting sports absolutely cannot miss King Family Vineyards.

Ankida Ridge Vineyards

The Ankida Ridge Vineyards is named after an ancient word meaning ‘where heaven and earth join’, and the majesty of the estate does not disappoint. Wildlife and animals are embraced and encouraged here including hummingbirds, dogs, and sheep that graze on the vineyard floor. This micro vineyard specializes in gentle treatment of grapes and hand crafted wines.
