Though Park City, Utah, was once a silver mining town, you don’t have to break the bank to visit. Here, you can enjoy world-class skiing, summer activities and festivals year-round without spending too much. Although chic boutique hotels, award-winning restaurants and refined nightlife give this mountain town a luxury feel, there are also plenty of budget-friendly places to stay. 1. Park City Hostel

The first hostel in Park City opened in 2016 in Prospector Square, moments from Park City Mountain. It offers private rooms, double bunk rooms and mixed six-bed dorms – and you can even book the whole hostel if you’re inviting a crowd. There are plenty of chances to meet fellow travelers, with a weekly bar crawl, movie nights, après-ski barbecues and party nights, and there are maps, magazines, free coffee and a rooftop patio too.

2. Holiday Inn Express and Suites Park City

This hotel on Highway 80 is a great base for anyone looking to explore without spending too much cash. Modern rooms have all you need, including a coffee maker, a work desk and a bath with a separate shower, and all stays include free breakfast and complimentary coffee in the lobby. When you’re ready to head out, there’s a free local bus just across the street for transport to the ski resorts, Main Street and Outlets Park City.

Get all the facilities of a luxe resort but without the bill to match at this sprawling property in Canyons Village. With individual rooms, studios and suites with one to three bedrooms, the property packs in all you need, including an outdoor pool and a hot tub, complimentary in-room tea and coffee, a picnic area and free self-service laundry. Upgrade to a suite if you can, complete with a kitchen and a gas fireplace for cozy nights in.

A good choice at any time of year, this budget hotel in the Wasatch Range isn’t just for skiers. Year-round, you can enjoy volleyball, badminton, a horseshoe pit, ping-pong, table football and air hockey or plunge into the indoor heated pool and extra-large hot tub. If only the slopes will do, the ski resorts are minutes away, and rental shops are close by to hire all the gear you’ll need.

6. Swiss Alps Inn

Have an all-out alpine adventure at this Swiss-themed motel on South Main Street in Heber City, about a 20-minute drive from Park City. Beyond the pretty pastel shutters and blooming window boxes, the property offers one- and two-bedroom guest rooms, all with a mini-fridge, a microwave, a coffee maker and a DVD player. There’s also a seasonal outdoor pool, an indoor hot tub, a picnic area and a swing set and slide for those visiting in the warmer months.

7. Newpark Resort

Take in sweeping views from this resort hotel at the edge of the 1,200-acre (486ha) Swaner Nature Preserve. Newpark Resort is the first LEED-certified resort for sustainability in the state and has 127 guest rooms and suites decorated in neutral taupes. Each one comes with a soaking tub, plush bathrobes, a Keurig coffee maker, a wet bar or a full kitchen, heated bathroom floors and a gas fireplace. If the whole family is in tow, the reasonably priced two-bedroom townhouses are worth considering for more space to call your own, including a private garage and a deck with a hot tub.

8. Treasure Mountain Inn

The Treasure Mountain Inn was established in 1963, making it the first modern hotel in Park City. It sits right on Main Street, with easy access to top attractions, and offers three types of rooms spread across three different buildings. The junior suites, best suited to singles and couples, are on the Park Avenue side, while the one-bedroom condos have a separate living area and easy access to Main Street. Families will prefer the two-bedroom condos, and all guests can enjoy a courtyard with a hot tub, the on-site Tekila Restaurant and a nail salon.
