Step into this Las Vegas–themed pizza parlor for some old fashioned New York–style pizza. Sounds strange, doesn’t it? Though the decor is West Coast, this place stays true to the owner’s East Coast roots. Arcade games like Pac Man, Frogger, and pinball create a casual atmosphere. Rounders Pizza gives Austin’s Home Slice serious competition. The garlic knots, smothered in butter and garlic, are not to be missed.

Counter Café has been around since 2006 and has even expanded to East Austin because of its popularity. The original location sits on the edge of Clarksville. It’s ‘traditional American diner’ meets ‘conscious dining experience,’ focusing on dishes made from fresh, local, and organic foods. It offers American classics like biscuits and gravy and less traditional items like Polenta Fried Oysters. The restaurant is only open for breakfast and lunch, making it a hot spot with a wait on the weekends.

With only 15 tables, Wink is an intimate farm-to-table restaurant. What makes Wink different from other fine dining spots in Austin is the impressive wine list featuring wine from over 20 sources. Widely appreciated for its huge (and strong) margaritas and fantastic happy hour deals, Z’Tejas is an awesome spot for Tex-Mex. The outdoor patio is the place to wind down after a day of shopping in Downtown Austin. Bite into the enchiladas and street tacos, not to mention the complimentary cornbread, which is reason enough to spend an entire afternoon at Z’Tejas.

One of the most aesthetically pleasing spaces in all of Clarksville, Winflo Osteria is a converted bungalow house nestled in Old West Austin. This traditional Italian restaurant has an outdoor terrace shaded by a gorgeous 300-year-old oak tree. It’s a low-key but tasty alternative to some of the pricier dinner spots in the area.

Cover 3

Deemed Clarksville’s only sports bar, Cover 3 is more famous for its to-die-for burgers than being an actual sports bar. Apart from myriad big-screen TVs, it doesn’t fit the usual sports bar identity. Instead, come for sizable appetizers, namely the Buffalo Chicken sliders, and mouthwatering entrées, like the Chicken-Fried Beef Tenderloin. Each dish is sure to impress.
